Travelling in Sapa

Sapa is a small highland town in Lao Cai, Vietnam. This beautiful town has been a famous resort in Vietnam from French colonial time. This land is known for its romantic and charming natural landscape. Visiting Sapa, you cannot miss the chance to visit the following interesting tourist attractions.


Travelling to Sapa in sunny days, you could admire this spectacular city center with sparkling scenery of plum flower or rainbow of fountain.


1. Cat Cat village

Cat Cat village is an ethnic village of the H’mong near Sapa town. This is a well – known tourist attraction that you cannot miss. In this village, you will have a golden chance to experience the traditional culture of the Mong people through the colourful brocade and the unique house architecture here. Houses here are made mainly of wood with worship space, kitchen, bedrooms, etc. The main door is always closed and they only open it when there is a wedding or federal.


2. Ham Rong mountain

Ham Rong mountain is located right in the heart of Sapa town. You have to buy entrance tickets to visit this magnificent mountain. To get to Ham Rong, you need to walk through hundreds of stone steps. This is the world of flowers with lots of different colors. When you get to the top of the mountain, you are bound to see a panorama of the whole town – a wonderful scene that you don’t want to miss.


3.  Fansipan summit

Fansipan is the highest mountain in Indochina. Standing on ‘the roof of Indochina’ is the dream of many young people. This is probably the place that tourists want to visit most in Sapa.  The feeling of standing on the height of 3.143 m breathing the fresh air and taking photos with your dear ones is sure to be the experience that not everyone can have.


However, nowadays, standing on Fansipan summit is no longer a distant dream when the way to conquer the summit is made much more easier with a cable system. This system is being built and will soon finish.

4. The old stone church 

This church is located in the central of Sapa town and was built of stones in the style of Roman Gothic architecture. Tourists love this place for its European surrounding scenes. The ancient beauty of the church is sure to make your trip to Sapa unforgettable.


The stone church is glimmering both at dawn and at night time.


5. Ta Phin village, Ta Van village, Lao Chai village

The ethnic villages are the places that you cannot miss in your itinerary.

Visiting these ethnic villages creates a chance for you to experience the life of a local resident. The traditional culture and ethnic identities are sure to bring you an unforgettable memory.


Also, you can buy the local jewelries or brocade textiles here. More interestingly, you can have a chance to try a special service – medicinal bathing. This is a local feature of the indigenous Red Dao.

6. Silver waterfall, Cat Cat waterfall, Love waterfall, Gold waterfall.

The famous waterfalls associated with many legends and thrilling stories recounted by the locals are sure to fascinate you and your friends. These are the magnificient waterfalls surrounded by a lot of beautiful sceneries.


Another thing that is going to excite you is the extremely interesting and impressive sound created by the flowing waterfall from on high.

Besides, you could also go to Heaven Gate in Sapa to look over the spectacular scenery of moutain and cloud. It is such an unforgetable experience and romatic place for any couple who expect to admire sunset momment as well.
